We're looking for an Associate Producer who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom and is excited to help build compelling, competitive newscasts for Chicago and its surrounding communities. If you love collaboration, value feedback, and understand that strong television news is a true team sport — especially when news doesn't stop on weekends or during off-hours — we want to meet you.This role works closely with Producers, Directors, Anchors, Reporters, and Digital teams to stack, write, and edit video for daily newscasts and local programming. You'll play a key role in shaping our storytelling, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strong visual presentation under deadline pressure.ResponsibilitiesAssist with multiple production needs across broadcast and digital platformsStack, write, and edit content for multiple newscasts during a shiftCollaborate with reporters on scripts, packages, and live shotsContribute to editorial decision-making, including graphics and visual elements, particularly during breaking newsResearch stories using the internet, video archives, and newsroom resourcesHelp showcase big stories in a clear, compelling, and visually engaging wayEdit video and assist in producing new or expanded newscastsPost stories and segments to digital platforms as assigned Serve as a fill-in Producer when neededAlways maintain ethical journalism practices and newsroom content standardsRequirementsMinimum of three (3) years of newsroom experience in a television news environmentBachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, TV/Film, or equivalent experienceStrong writing skills with excellent grammar, attention to detail, and sound news judgmentAbility to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyStrong understanding of visual, written, and verbal storytellingAbility to collaborate effectively with producers, reporters, anchors, photographers, digital, production, and engineering teamsStrong sense of journalistic integrity and understanding of audience needs and expectationsKnowledge of brand-building directives and newsroom standardsA team-first mindset with a willingness to learn, adapt, and support the newsroomFlexibility to work weekends and varied shifts as newsroom demands requireSalary Range$60K – $70K Annualized – commensurate with applicant's experience and skill levelBenefitsOur comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.J-18808-Ljbffr
