Benefits Specialist
Annual Salary Range: $60K - $70K - depending on experienceHours: 9AM - 5PM, plus a hybrid work settingBenefits: Health, Vision and Dental offerVacation - 3 weeksPosition Summary:The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration, coordination, and support of employee benefits programs within the organization. This role ensures employees understand and effectively utilize their benefits while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. In a healthcare environment, the Benefits Specialist plays a key role in supporting a diverse workforce with complex and often high-impact benefit needs.Key Responsibilities:Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiativesServe as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, providing clear and accurate informationCoordinate open enrollment processes, including employee communications, system updates, and vendor collaborationMaintain and update benefits records in HRIS systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentialityWork with benefits providers and brokers to resolve claims issues and eligibility discrepanciesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA)Assist in evaluating and recommending improvements to benefits offerings to remain competitive in the healthcare industrySupport onboarding and offboarding processes related to benefits enrollment and terminationPrepare reports and analyze benefits utilization, trends, and costsDevelop and distribute employee communication materials related to benefits programsAssist with audits and ensure proper documentation is maintainedQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)2–4+ years of experience in benefits administration, preferably in a healthcare settingStrong knowledge of employee benefits programs and applicable regulationsExperience with HRIS and benefits administration systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational abilitiesAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionAnalytical mindset with problem-solving skillsPreferred Qualifications:Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or similar certificationExperience working in hospitals, clinics, or healthcare systemsFamiliarity with union benefits or multi-site healthcare organizationsWork Environment:Office or hybrid work environment within a healthcare organizationMay require occasional extended hours during open enrollment periodsWhy Join Us:Join a mission-driven healthcare organization dedicated to improving lives.
