Senior Staff Accountant
Senior AccountantOur client is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of our multi-divisional organization specializing in Energy Efficiency, Engineering, Environmental Testing, HVAC, and Design. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in a project-based, multi-entity environment.Reporting to the Controller, we are seeking candidates with the following experience:Essential Duties & Responsibilities ( include, but are not limited to)Lead and manage month-end and year-end close processesPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statementsMaintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger across multiple divisionsAnalyze financial results and provide variance analysis and reporting to leadershipSupport budgeting and forecasting efforts in collaboration with operational leadersAssist with revenue recognition and job cost accounting in a project-based environmentEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policiesDevelop, document, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting proceduresSupport annual audit processes and coordinate with external auditorsAssist with tax preparation support and regulatory filingsMonitor cash flow activity and assist with financial planning initiativesIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracyProvide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as neededPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility:This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.Required Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum of 6+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standardsExperience in a multi-entity, multi-divisional, or project-based accounting environmentHighly skilled in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis, and financial modelingStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesPreferred:Experience with job cost accounting and revenue recognition in engineering, construction, or professional services industriesExperience using Acumatica accounting softwareExperience working within an employee-owned (ESOP) organization
