Machine OperatorThe Machine Operator sets up, operates, and monitors manufacturing machinery to produce quality parts in a demanding industrial environment. This role uses hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot issues, maintain safe and efficient operations, and ensure products meet required specifications.ResponsibilitiesSet up manufacturing machinery according to production requirements, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and safe operation.Operate manufacturing equipment to produce parts and components that meet quality and dimensional specifications.Use hand and power tools confidently to support machine setup, adjustment, minor repairs, and general production tasks.Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments to verify accuracy and adherence to tolerances.Perform basic assembly tasks related to machine operation and production processes as needed.Troubleshoot equipment issues promptly, identifying root causes and taking corrective actions to minimize downtime.Monitor machines during operation to detect malfunctions, unusual sounds, or quality issues and respond appropriately.Follow established safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while performing all tasks.Meet attendance and punctuality standards to support consistent production schedules.Complete physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, walking, standing, stooping, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.Maintain a clean and organized work area, including removing debris and managing dust and materials around the machines.Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding machine status, production issues, and improvement opportunities.Essential SkillsProficient use of hand and power tools in an industrial or manufacturing setting.Experience running manufacturing machinery in a production environment.Experience setting up manufacturing machinery, including alignment and basic adjustments.Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools accurately.Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with mechanical systems and components.Demonstrated troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve machine and process issues.Ability to meet established attendance and reliability standards.Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, walking, standing, stooping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.Eyesight appropriate for detailed, close work and reading measurement instruments.Comfort working in a heavy industrial or similar physically demanding environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in general labor roles within manufacturing, heavy industry, or similar environments.Experience in farm work or other hands-on, physically intensive roles that require mechanical inclination.Experience with basic assembly tasks in a production or shop environment.Ability to adapt quickly to an older, more traditional manufacturing setting.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.Willingness to learn and follow established processes and safety procedures.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
