Maintenance Specialist @ Independence Corps

Job ObjectiveToassist in maintaining property and grounds in accordance with acceptable standards of safety, cleanliness and appearance. Property includes building, grounds, vehiclesand equipment serving the building.Operates vehicle(s) to make pick up/deliveries of materials or transport of personnelEssential Functions: Repair and maintainproperty including buildingMaintain building exterior, including lawn, shrubs, trees, parking and public areas and snow removalUsing hand and/or power tools, repairs, installsand provides basic maintenance servicesPerform minimal janitorial/custodial servicesOperate truck or other owned equipment in the delivery and pickupsMaintain records and conducts periodic checks on vehicles and building equipmentSchedule needed vehicle and building serviceMinimum Qualifications:EducationHigh School or equivalent; vocational training in construction, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical repair preferredExperienceMinimum two years' experience in maintenance or construction fieldCertifications/LicensesNoneSkills/AbilitiesAbility to demonstrateknowledge and proficiencyin building related skills and tradesDemonstrated proficiencyin the use of basic hand and power toolsAbility to sustain physical activity both inside and outside for extended periods of timeAbility to and to operatebasic building maintenance equipmentAbility to read and understand schedules, work ordersand product safety informationAbility to organize, prioritize and meet work schedules on timelybasis with minimum of direct supervisionAbility to work irregular and extended hours when requiredWillingness to accept on call assignments during building emergenciesPosition requires a confident, self-motivated, multi-tasked individual with integrity in the use of resourcesAct in a manner consistent with the Mission of The Salvation ArmSupervisory ResponsibilityNonePhysical RequirementsIncludestanding, walking, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods of time; lifting upto 50 poundsReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.Travel:Daytravel can occur on a dailybasisDriving:Position requires the ability to drive.
