Civil Superintendent
T&T Construction is a family-owned business that has been around for over 45 years. We specialize in civil and concrete construction and service Harris and surrounding Counties and are looking to add a Civil/Dirt Superintendent to our team.
Below is an outline of what we are looking for.
Objectives:
· Be on job sites as much as possible, be available and on site for Saturday work
· Make sure customer needs/expectations are met
· Ensure each project is completed within the quote and take off
· Monitor the actual construction cost, progress and addressing any variance issues
· Assure adequate materials are delivered/available for installation in the proper sequence
· Maintain safe, clean and compliant job sites
· Establishes all layouts and elevations for each project
Key Activities:
· Ability to advise or educate on the construction of various concrete structures, including but not limited to – foundations, columns, and concrete walls
· Read, comprehend and interpret blueprints/drawings, and ask questions about project blueprints assigned to you. Read all of the plan, not just the structural (S) sections
· Manage/Inspect all work, elevations, anchor bolt location and layout - daily
· Ability to calculate, schedule and order material quantities needed for your project based on the drawing, i.e. concrete, reinforcing steel, etc.
· Ability to set up and use laser/optical surveying equipment and survey rods, have equipment calibrated as needed
· Ability to read a "linker rod" and read elevations in 10ths
· Provide primary communication with the client and PM's
· Provide quick responses to all requests from GFS, PM's, clients and Office Manager
· Manage hourly employee’s activities and hours
· Coordinate with GFS to help set up and schedule work crews and activities
· Perform daily record keeping for each of your projects, ensuring accurate accounting of job progress, problems, resolutions, etc. i.e. time, accidents, disciplinary incidents, requests for pay increases, evaluations
· Review drawings and scope of work with the foremen
· Follow the plans, specs, schedule and quote for each of your projects
· Manage multiple jobs/keeping up with the paperwork
· Provide mentoring/coaching to the foremen and other key employees
· Double-check elevation and anchor bolts prior to the pour
· Ensure "Toolbox Safety Training" is provided and documented
· Maintain a safe, professional and organized job site at all times
· Schedule city inspections, material testing and quality inspections
· Help train new employees
· Manage and partner with vendors to increase quality and enable improvements
· Address safety concerns immediately and report to GFS and PM's
· Establish a professional relationship and communicate to PM and GFS any change orders, change in scope of work, extra work, delays to schedule and injuries/safety concerns immediately
· Communicate to our shop mechanic and GFS any and all equipment problems on the equipment assigned to your project
· Keep your vehicle clean and with proper T&T signage
· Have the ability to act as “inspector back up” on projects managed by other superintendents by checking layout, grades and anchor bolts.
· Ability to step in to manage when the assigned superintendent is off of work
Management Responsibilities:
· 2-4 jobs (3-20 employees/job)
· 2-3 Foremen
· 2-3 leadmen
· 8-10 workers

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
