Job Type: Full time Exempt/Non Exempt: Hourly This position requires in office (Fremont, MI) training at least 3 days a week until training is successfully completed. After training is completed, this person can participate in a hybrid work schedule as approved by management. What you will do: Perform various risk analysis and support activities relating to commercial insurance underwriting functions based on area of assignment. Review insurance policies to ensure rating accuracy and completion and corrects policies within established limits. Prepare correspondence and reports. Maintain records and files. Review commercial insurance applications for rating accuracy and completeness. Verify selected criteria for commercial insurance cancellation status. Complete policy endorsement forms for additions or changes to commercial insurance policies. Maintain a variety of reports, letters and forms according to established procedures. May be required to review reports for discrepancies and correct errors. Develop reports, correspondence and form letters for additional information, records in diary and follow up according to established procedures. Maintain computer and manual diaries for underwriting action according to established procedures and assists in developing monthly reports. Benefits include:401k Match Medical Dental Vision PTO Paid Holidays Tuition Reimbursement Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify): High School diploma or equivalent 35 wpm accurate typing PC software applications Preparing business documents Analyzing written directions and determining appropriate action Problem solving Underwriting policies, practices and procedures Commercial insurance terminology Communicate effectively with others Perform basic math calculations Review policies to ensure rating accuracy/completion and corrects policies within established limits Organize, file and assemble documents Work within a team environment Present information in a clear concise manner Track and log daily activities Preferred Qualifications: One year insurance experience college level coursework in Business Administration or a related field Experience in the application of underwriting policies, practices and procedures IMS/POS experience with insurance transactions CPCU, IIA, CIC or other insurance-related coursework Knowledge of company commercial insurance products and processing procedures Work Environment: This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership.
