Structural Engineer

Licensed Structural Engineer – ADU Plan Review & Approval *Job Type: Full-Time* Overview We are a growing ADU design, construction, and manufacturing company seeking an experienced *Licensed Structural Engineer* to review, approve, and stamp ADU plans for our projects. The ideal candidate has strong experience with *residential construction and Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)* and understands California building requirements and the plan approval process. This position will work closely with our architectural, design, permitting, and construction teams to ensure plans are structurally sound, code-compliant, and ready for city submission and approval. Key Responsibilities * Review architectural and structural plans for ADU projects * Perform structural engineering calculations as required * Review foundations, framing, roof systems, connections, and other structural components * Approve and stamp structural plans and calculations when appropriate * Identify required corrections or modifications before plans are submitted * Respond to structural plan-check comments and prepare necessary revisions * Coordinate with architects, designers, project managers, and permitting staff * Assist with engineering solutions for site-specific conditions * Help ensure plans comply with applicable California building codes and local jurisdiction requirements * Support the team in moving projects efficiently through plan check and permitting Qualifications * *Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license required* * Structural engineering experience in residential construction * Experience reviewing and stamping residential plans * ADU experience strongly preferred * Strong knowledge of California residential and building codes * Experience working with city plan-check departments and responding to corrections * Ability to review multiple projects and maintain organized documentation * Strong communication and problem-solving skills * Experience with prefabricated, modular, or manufactured ADUs is a plus Compensation *$10,000-$12,000 a month*, depending on experience and qualifications.
