The Billing Platform Team is critical to this mission, building and maintaining the revenue-critical infrastructure that powers our platform’s growth. We primarily utilize Ruby/Rails4+ years of engineering management experience, with a track record of hiring, mentoring, and growing senior talentStrong advocate for quality, reliability, and operational excellence (e.g., observability, incident response)Experience managing SaaS or payment-related platforms is highly desirableAbility to think iteratively, breaking complex billing problems into deployable piecesWhat You’ll DoLead, hire, and mentor a high-caliber team of software engineersDrive the Billing Platform roadmap, balancing feature delivery with technical debt remediationFoster a culture of high trust, strong ownership, and continuous improvement.Partner with product management and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable billing, pricing, and integration solutionsEstablish clear team objectives that align with BigCommerce’s strategic business goalsNice To HaveExperience with billing/payment platforms (e.g., Zuora) or complex financial systems.Familiarity with GCP, RabbitMQ, and caching/data strategies.Experience leveraging AI/ML tools to improve engineering efficiency or business outcomes.BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.Work Where You ThriveFor candidates based in the Austin or Atlanta metro area, the position follows a hybrid work model with three days per week in the office, balancing focused individual work with meaningful in-person collaboration.(Pay Transparency Range: $183,000.00 - $274,000.00)Compensation TransparencyThe national base salary range for this role is posted above in this job post.Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications and geographic location.
