Help Desk Assistant (Summer 2026)

Location: Delhi, NY Category: Active Student Jobs Job Type: Part-time Posted On: Fri May 29 2026 Job Description:Help Desk Assistants will be expected to carry themselves in a professional, polite manner when interacting with Help Desk users. Assistants must be able to follow written and oral directions from CIS supervisory staff and our Help Desk ticketing system. Typical duties include but are not limited to: answering phones, using our Help Desk software to create and assign tickets, moving hardware (i.e.: computers, phones, etc.), and assist wherever needed within the CIS department. We are looking for students who can both work independently and as a member of a team.ResponsibilitiesAnswer Help Desk phones to provide first-level contact and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software and applications problems.Initiate and maintain detailed tickets within the Help Desk ticketing systemInventory and track equipment including equipment loansGreet Help Desk users courteously and direct them appropriatelyDeliver hardware and set up computers and other equipmentClean workrooms and equipment closets Troubleshoot classroom technology issuesDevelop troubleshooting skills by using effective investigative methods and using Help Desk troubleshooting toolsJob RequirementsMust have excellent communication skillsMust have 2.0 or higher GPAMust be in good judicial standingPreferredAble to lift 35 lbsOther ExpectationsAttend monthly meetings/training (approx. 30 min-1 hr)Two original forms of identification needed to complete HR paperwork i.e. passport or driver's license and birth certificate/social security cardAdditional InformationWages: $17.00/ hour
