Visual Effects Producer

Modern Post is a bi-coastal Post Production studio with offices in New York and Los Angeles. We are looking for a Post Producer in our NY office, in person to Thursday, remote on Fridays.. Ideal Candidates will have 3 + experience in post production facility and be familiar with finishing and delivery.Responsibilities include:VFX/ Finishing ProducerThe VFX/Finishing Producer is responsible for ensuring deadlines are met and delivery specs are clear and well organized.Oversee and manage VFX team and/or editorial assistants during finishing and delivery to ensure quality and punctuality at the end of all projects is a foremost requirement.Responsible for facilitating the bidding process and management of information flow for VFX projects and all in house finishing.Advise on time, schedule and bid notes on projects during initial bidding stages.Attend editorial kick off meetings with the Editorial and VFX teams to establish correct job specific workflow from the beginning of each project.Create VFX shot lists for every project that outline the time needed and record client red pen notes along the way.Create and maintain finishing schedules and advise on and create overage estimates for any additional hours/schedule needed beyond what is covered in the awarded bids.Maintain daily contact with editorial Producer through VFX/finishing process to keep the team updated and schedule any internal reviews or approvals.Manage day to day resource requirements of the team and anticipate and report to Head of VFX on all resource needs.Hold and schedule any additional Flame support and manage secure pipeline and shot work that is sent out of house.Schedule time for archiving Flame and AE projects & create generics with VFX Assist.Manage client relationships and expectations in a professional and diplomatic manner.Communicate any issues to Head of VFX regarding problems with prep, communication, machines etc.Check in with lead Flame artist to make sure they have all necessary prep and information for projects scheduled each dayReview VFX renders to ensure qualityReview conforms to confirm correct renders are being used and no red pen notes have been missedSkills and Experience3 + years equivalent work experienceKnowledge of VFX, compositing and retouching pipeline for commercial editorialExperience with budget oversight and actualizingAbility to work with agility under tight deadlinesExcellent communication skillsProblem solving abilitiesComprehensive knowledge of edit, color and flame workflows.
