Physician Rheumatology - Competitive Salary

Job DescriptionRheumatologist (MD/DO)Position SummaryThe Rheumatologist provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal diseases. This role focuses on the long-term care of patients with complex rheumatic conditions through evidence-based medical management, patient education, and coordination with multidisciplinary care teams.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and manage patients with rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, vasculitis, gout, osteoporosis, and connective tissue disordersDiagnose and treat inflammatory and degenerative musculoskeletal diseasesDevelop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plansPrescribe and manage immunomodulatory and biologic therapiesProvide outpatient rheumatology care and inpatient consultation services as neededInterpret diagnostic studies including laboratory testing, imaging, and bone density scansPerform office-based procedures such as joint aspiration and injection, consistent with training and privilegesCollaborate with primary care providers, orthopedics, nephrology, pulmonology, dermatology, and other specialistsEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and disease managementMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiativesSupervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers, residents, or clinical staff as applicableComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standardsQualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited internal medicine or pediatrics residency programCompletion of an accredited rheumatology fellowship programBoard-eligible or board-certified in RheumatologyAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensureDEA registration or eligibilitySkills and CompetenciesExpertise in rheumatologic disease diagnosis and managementStrong clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning skillsExcellent communication and patient counseling abilitiesAbility to manage complex, chronic conditions over timeCommitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered careWork EnvironmentOutpatient rheumatology clinics with possible inpatient consult responsibilitiesCall coverage as determined by practice or service needsPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environmentsManual dexterity for joint injections and examinationsVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and interpretation of diagnostic dataRequirementsMust maintain state certification and/or licensure.
