Job Summary
We are seeking a professional OTR Dry Van Commercial Driver with a valid Class A CDL to operate tractor-trailers across long-distance routes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight over extended routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. This role offers an opportunity to work with various types of freight, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks, requiring versatility and expertise in commercial driving.
Duties
Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety standards
Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary
Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while maintaining safety and compliance
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure proper functioning and safety
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and freight delivery documentation
Handle freight securely on flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, or dump trucks as required by the load type
Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route updates, delivery status, and any issues encountered during transit
Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly
Experience
Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving, preferably with delivery driver experience involving freight transportation
Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently
Experience handling various types of trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is preferred
Familiarity with load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment is a plus
Knowledge of route planning and driving logistics for long-distance trips is highly desirable
Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record required
