Construction Inspector
Job DescriptionInsight Global is seeking a Construction Inspector to support transportation and infrastructure projects across Northeast Indiana for a top civil engineering and surveying client. This individual will serve as the onsite presence ensuring contractor compliance with INDOT and LPA standards, performing inspections, documentation, and materials testing. They will play a key role in monitoring quality, supporting project engineers, and maintaining accurate project records. This role offers strong growth potential as the team expands and begins securing more state and municipal construction work.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesPerform daily onsite inspections for INDOT + LPA transportation projectsMonitor contractor work, materials, workmanship, and complianceRead/interpret plans, specs, standard drawings, permitsMaintain INDOT-compliant field diaries, photos, quantity reportsEnter data into INDOT SiteManagerPerform or coordinate materials testing (soil, asphalt, concrete)Inspect erosion control and SWPPP/MOT complianceCommunicate daily with contractors, engineers, INDOT staff, and PMsAssist with RFIs, field issues, progress meetings, and project documentationSupport preparation of pay apps, change orders, summariesMay guide junior inspectors on some projectsWork hours may vary with construction schedule (early mornings, occasional nights/weekends, but currently minimal OT)Travel within ~1 hour of Fort Wayne; company vehicle + credit card providedWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
