Senior Steel Detailer - Substation

Talon Hiring Solutions has a client in the Birmingham, Alabama area that is looking for a full time Senior Steel Detailer to join the team. This position is for a detailer that understands structural steel, fabrication and constructibility.What you will do:Prepare detailed shop and erection drawings for structural steel projectsDetail steel for power substations, equipment supports, H-Frames, A-Frames and other heavy utility structuresGenerate accurate bills of material (BOMs)Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teamsEnsure compliance with AISC standards and project specificationsReview and incorporate field and fabrication feedbackWhat you will bring:5+ years of steel detailing experienceStrong proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting platformsSolid understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practicesAbility to work in-office and collaborate with engineering and fabrication teamsFamiliarity with AISC standardsSubstation or power utility detailing experience preferred but not requiredExperience with Tekla, SDS/2, or #D modeling platforms preferred but not required
