This is a high-visibility opportunity supporting the early phases of a 200 MW wind farm development consisting of up to 45 turbines.The ideal candidate will have prior wind energy experience, strong field presence, and a proactive approach to safety leadership in dynamic construction environments.This is a high-visibility role requiring proactive field presence, contractor engagement, and leadership in maintaining a safe work environment.Project DetailsProject: Camp Creek Wind ProjectLocation: Macomb, ILDuration: 6 months to 1 yearSchedule: 5–6 days/week, 10–12 hour shiftsHours: 50–60+ hours/weekField vs Office: 80% Field / 20% OfficeStart Date: June 15, 2026Compensation & BenefitsPay Rate: $45/hourOvertime Rate: $70/hourPer Diem: $150/dayTravel Assistance: Flight and rental support availableExpenses: Reimbursable with approvalKey ResponsibilitiesServe as the sole on-site safety representative for the projectConduct daily field safety inspections and auditsSupport turbine deliveries and construction activitiesEnsure compliance with OSHA, client, and site-specific safety requirementsLead daily safety meetings, orientations, and toolbox talksInvestigate incidents, near misses, and corrective actionsMaintain safety documentation and reporting within project platformsCollaborate with site management and subcontractors to promote a strong safety cultureMonitor PPE compliance and high-risk work activitiesSupport continuous improvement initiatives across the projectQualificationsRequired CertificationsCurrent First Aid/CPR certificationGWO BST (Basic Safety Training)GWO ART certificationWorking at Heights certificationRequired ExperienceConstruction safety experience in wind energy projects preferredAbility to work independently as the sole safety professional on siteStrong understanding of OSHA construction standardsExperience supporting turbine erection, deliveries, or renewable energy projectsProficiency with safety management platforms such as:ProcoreSafety CultureSpheraWork EnvironmentApproximately 80% field / 20% administrative workOutdoor construction environment with exposure to varying weather conditionsExtended workdays and weekend work requiredFrequent walking, climbing, and field observationsPPE RequirementsCandidates must be able to utilize and maintain:Climbing hard hatFall protection equipmentSafety vestStandard construction PPEAbout ISSISS partners with leading renewable energy and construction clients to provide experienced safety professionals nationwide.
