DescriptionMAIN PURPOSE: Operates loaders, crushing equipment, dust collectors, conveyors, moves and loads rail cars, during operation.Main Responsibilities/ActivitiesOperates crushing system or loads rail cars with concentrate, practices good housekeepingOperates DCS system to start, stop, monitor, and adjust equipment for proper operation of the crushing equipmentUses shovels, hoses, slings, hand tools, to clean areas and performs minor maintenanceOperates end loaders, forklifts, rail car mover, overhead cranes, rock breaker, and pick-up trucksPerforms routine maintenance, including lubrication, of the crusher system and mobile equipment and operates within environmental permitsCompletes daily Pre-Task Hazard Assessments, daily inspects work area and corrects any potential hazardsInspects fire extinguishers, safety showers, and emergency lighting for proper operationCleans working, storage and other areas as requiredMay be required to train or assist in training of othersPerforms other duties as assignedEducation, Qualifications And ExperiencePrevious crusher, concentrator, mobile equipment experiences preferredKey Personal CompetenciesAction Oriented - Initiates timely action to address important issues.Collaborates - Encourages unity rather than us vs. them thinkingCommunicates Effectively - Clear, concise, and professional in communication.Decision Quality - Considers various inputs, criteria, and trade-offs to arrive at effective decisions and recommendations.Ensures accountability - Follows through on commitments.Manages Ambiguity - Accepts needed change despite the uncertainty it brings.Hsec AccountabilitiesEveryone in the workplace is responsible for his or her own safety and for the safety of their co-workers. Report, as soon as practicable to their Manager any situations where HSEC requirements are not being conformed to within their work areaAvoid endangerment to any other person through any act or omissionOnly use equipment you are trained to use and operate the equipment in a way that is safe, protects the environment and doesn’t cause undue community impacts. Participate in HSEC training provided to themReport all incidents; including but not limited to injuries, near miss, community interactions and impacts, environmental impacts, spills, unsafe work practices, etc.
