Employment Specialist (Part- Time)
Days/Hours: Part time, M- F, 9 AM- 1PM.
License/Certification:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
Teaches and models skills necessary to perform job duties.
Coach clients on expected work attire and grooming.
Advocates for client to employers or client coworkers, identifying the client’s strengths, accommodations, and needs, when/if needed.
Help clients establish appropriate relationships with coworkers and employer.
With client input, develop goals and objectives for ongoing placement success and retention.
Regularly meet with employer and update client’s employment information such as job description, job tasks, salary, benefits, Union information (if applicable), and performance reviews.
Consistent communication with employer(s) to assure client is performing the job to employer specifications.
Regularly communicate progress and employment issues to client’s support team enlisting support from interdisciplinary team members for support.
Completes progress notes and reports and other documentation as required. Documents consistently and accurately all client activities
Attend required trainings, department, agency and general staff meetings
Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities assigned
Spanish requires
Provide career coaching and guidance to individuals seeking employment or career advancement
Conduct interviews and assessments to determine clients' skills, interests, and goals
Develop personalized career plans and strategies for clients
Assist clients in identifying and applying for job opportunities
Educate clients on employment labor laws and regulations
Collaborate with employers to understand their hiring needs and connect them with qualified candidates
Provide workforce development training and resources to enhance clients' job readiness
Support individuals with developmental disabilities in their career exploration and employment goals
Mentor clients in areas such as social skills, professional etiquette, and workplace behavior
Collaborate with social workers and addiction counselors to provide comprehensive support to clients
Contribute to the development of training programs and materials for career developmentQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as social work, counseling, or human resources- Proven experience in career coaching, recruiting, or related fields- Strong knowledge of employment labor laws and regulations- Familiarity with workforce development programs and resources- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail- Ability to adapt to the needs of diverse populations- Proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteThis is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals seeking career guidance.
