Director of ECSupervises: N/ATerm of Employment: 10 monthsSalary: Based on experience and educational attainmentQualifications:Graduation from a four year accredited program of occupational therapy (required) and two years of experience or A Master's Degree in occupational therapy NC Occupational Therapist LicenseEssential Job Functions:Evaluates students' abilities through a variety of functional and behavioral assessments and collection of informationProvides direct therapy through various activities to develop and maintain living skillsParticipates in the multi-disciplinary meetings to develop Individual Education PlansDesigns and constructs or modified special equipment to meet individual needsPrepares sensory diets for students as appropriateInstructs and monitors educational personnel, community agencies, and parents in the program to increase strength and dexterity of exceptional studentsCoordinates the development and evaluation of a school-wide occupational therapy programProjects budget needs to support OT programMaintains clinical and administrative records in accordance with state guidelines and school policyKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesRead, comprehend, and prepare various kinds of communication and information including emails, correspondence, reports, articles, spreadsheets, staff development plans, educational forms and dataAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate well with school personnel, employees, and central office staff.Demonstrate functional knowledge of computers and all aspects of the Microsoft Office Professional software programs.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignment.Comply with confidentiality requirements in local, state and federal policies and statutes.
