General Labor / Material Handler (Forklift) – 2nd Shift
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced General Labor / Material Handler (Forklift) to join our team for the 2nd shift. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement, loading, and unloading of materials within our Manufacturing/Warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations, heavy equipment operation, and materials handling, with a focus on safety and efficiency. Prior experience with warehouse management systems and OSHA standards is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting where attention to detail and mechanical aptitude are key.
Duties
Operate various types of heavy equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks to load and unload materials
Pick, pack, and organize orders using RF scanners and warehouse management systems
Assist with shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch of goods
Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
Perform materials handling tasks such as lifting heavy loads safely and accurately
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
Support warehouse operations by assisting with inventory management, order picking, and other general labor tasks as needed
Experience
Previous warehouse distribution or shipping & receiving experience preferred
Hands-on experience operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, or other heavy equipment required
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners is advantageous
Experience with order picking, load & unload procedures, and materials handling in a fast-paced environment
Prior experience as a warehouse supervisor or in roles involving heavy lifting, pallet jack operation, or crane operation is beneficial
This role requires physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged standing. Candidates should possess mechanical aptitude, safety awareness, and the ability to operate heavy equipment confidently. A strong work ethic combined with prior warehouse experience will contribute to success in this position.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
