Their main duties include resuscitating or stabilizing patients and directing them to the appropriate medical departments. Collaboration with other specialists and emergency department staff is essential. Emergency physicians must assess a wide range of conditions, often with limited information, and must be adept at making quick decisions to establish a preliminary diagnosis and treatment plan.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct immediate evaluations and manage emergency patients upon arrival.Assess patients efficiently to determine their conditions and maintain department workflow.Order necessary medical tests and develop treatment plans based on results.Create effective patient care plans.Refer patients to appropriate specialists as needed.Ensure patient stability before transferring them to the relevant department for further evaluation.Provide discharge instructions and complete necessary paperwork, including prescriptions.Maintain accurate medical records for patients.Coordinate with various departments to ensure patients receive required treatments.Complete patient charts in the EPIC system within 72 hours of the patient visit.Review and co-sign charts from Advanced Practice Clinicians within 72 hours of receipt.Submit monthly availability for scheduling within the established timeframe.Maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, and complete annual education requirements.Review all medical reports related to patients.Attend staff and committee meetings unless working, on post-night shifts, or with an excused absence.Perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.QualificationsEducation: Doctor of Medicine; Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency.Credentials: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine; Physician MD; DEA Diversion Control Division; Physician - Controlled Substance Registration or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) licensure.Experience: Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency is required.We look forward to welcoming dedicated professionals to our team!
