This contributes to quality patient care. Essential Functions of the Role. Performs various respiratory therapy treatments like PEP, IS, and O 2 checks. Provides Incentive Spirometer treatments and oxygen therapy following established procedures. Under general supervision, instructs patients in the use of various treatments in a thorough and professional manner. Updates patient records with all therapies provided, and reports all unusual signs, symptoms, or side effects immediately. Documents all treatments and therapies given, any supplies used and accurately files all corresponding charges. Performs regular cleaning and sterilization of equipment in accordance with established procedures. Maintains the proper functioning of oxygen and emergency equipment through daily checks.
