Job SummaryUnder supervision, this position is responsible for overseeing the functions of the Registration and Appointment Departments and direct supervision of the Student Health Patient Registration and Appointment staff at the Student Health & Wellness Center within the Student Health and Counseling Department (SHCS).Registration function includes registering patients for care, determining eligibility, accepting payments, providing instruction regarding payment policies, and patient checkout for approximately 200 patients per day. Appointment function includes scheduling for multiple departments including primary care, acute care, psychiatry services, specialty services, physical therapy, acupuncture, laboratory, radiology, nursing clinics, and immunization clinics. Responsible for obtaining demographic information, establishing eligibility and providing information regarding charges and payments, answering questions and directing patients and visitors as needed. Extensive use of medical practice database, and responsibility for accurate statistical output.Apply By DateMay 26, 2026 at 11:59pmQualificationsMinimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the positionBachelor's degree in areas of business administration, health administration or healthcare management and/or equivalent experience/training.At least 5 years experience and comprehensive knowledge of medical office functions, medical insurance billing, medical professional ethics, confidentiality FERPA and HIPAA requirements.At least 3 years experience using an electronic health record system and medical office management application.Experience extracting and/or reconciling E&M and CPT codes from clinical records.Experience in a position that required analytical and problem solving skills.Experience reconciling and analyzing data, preparing reports and presenting information to direct reports, peers and/or managers.Knowledge of developing and implementing policies and procedures, including strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a previous work setting using effective communication in meetings of diverse groups and one-on-one. At least 3 years experience in a supervisory/lead role, including preparing staff work schedules to meet staffing requirements. Experience working in a university health center or similar college health program.
