System Administrator, Journeyman

Job DescriptionDynamo Technologies is seeking a skilled System Administrator, Journeyman to support Command and Control (C2) and Intelligence Systems in both physical and virtual environments. The candidate will be responsible for administering Windows and Unix-based servers and workstations at the operating system and application level in support of mission-critical operations. This role includes system maintenance, software support, cybersecurity compliance, troubleshooting, and backup management for classified environments. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting DoD systems, maintaining compliance with DISA STIGs and AFNETOPS directives, and working in fast-paced operational environments supporting mission systems and end users.Duties/ ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain Windows and Unix/Linux-based servers and workstations supporting C2 and Intelligence SystemsProvide support for installed mission applications, including software updates, releases, patches, and Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNOs)Monitor, maintain, and review system audit logs for failures, failure prediction, and IA accountabilityCreate, manage, schedule, and test system backups in accordance with approved maintenance plans and schedulesPerform basic database maintenance activities in accordance with approved maintenance proceduresEnsure compliance with IA policies and procedures, including DISA STIGs and AFNETOPS directivesTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues through ticketing systems while supporting high operational availabilityManage OEM software support and coordinate with vendors as requiredSupport and resolve approximately 2,000 trouble tickets quarterly for supported systems and applicationsCollaborate with technical teams, cybersecurity personnel, and program leadership to support operational mission requirementsRequired Skills/AbilitiesActive DoD IAT Level II certification requiredExperience administrating Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems in enterprise or DoD environmentsKnowledge of system patching, software updates, backups, and cybersecurity compliance requirementsFamiliarity with DISA STIG implementation, audit log analysis, and IA best practicesAbility to troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-related issues in mission-critical environmentsExperience managing multiple priorities and responding to technical support requests in a timely mannerStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in team environmentsAbility to maintain accurate documentation and system recordsExperience using ticketing systems to track and resolve technical issuesNice-to-Have SkillsExperience supporting Command and Control (C2) or Intelligence SystemsFamiliarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-VExperience with scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or PythonKnowledge of database administration and enterprise monitoring toolsPrior experience supporting Air Force or Joint operational environmentsExperience coordinating OEM software support and lifecycle managementEducation And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferredEquivalent combination of technical training, certifications, and relevant work experience may be considered2–5 years of experience administering Windows and/or Unix/Linux systems in enterprise or DoD environments preferredRelevant DoD 8570/8140 compliant certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or equivalent preferredClearance: Active TS/SCI Clearance required.Travel Requirement: Occasional travel may be required less than 10%.Dynamo is a full lifecycle digital transformation company providing best-in-class technology and mission support services to our clients.
