All staff members are encouraged to lead clubs, coach teams, and integrate themselves into the school community.Essential FunctionsThe tasks, duties, and responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:Develop appropriate lesson plans and instructional materials and teach assigned curriculum to all students in class, with the ability to use data to drive instructional decisions and provide differentiated lessons as neededEstablish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve an optimal learning environmentEstablish positive and effective rapport with students and create a classroom environment that is favorable to learning and personal growth Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for lifelong learning while exhibiting those qualities themselvesIdentify student needs and collaborate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students Collaborate with co-workers for the purpose of improving the overall quality of instruction and student learning Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on student academic progress and behavior through progress reports, report cards, conferences, and weekly parent communicationMeet after school weekly with grade-level colleagues and academic coaches to review student data to guide differentiated instructional decisions and lesson planningServe on various committees to ensure functionality of the school (Vertical Teams, Committees, etc.)Participate in a variety of meetings and professional development activitiesWillingness to coach, lead, or assist a team or co-curricular activityQualificationsEducation/Experience Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred Two years of teaching experience in a lower school environment preferredSkills, Abilities, And AttributesPassion for working with lower school studentsStrong desire to work in a faith-based communityPossesses a collaborative spirit with strong communication and interpersonal skillsA strong knowledge base of literacy and math instructionExperience using multiple types of data to drive instruction, as well as a high-level of comfort with various technology tools used in the delivery of instruction in a modern classroom The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of, and experience using, emerging classroom practices regarding experiential learningPositive attitude and commitment to creating a joyful school experiencePhysical RequirementsIn compliance with ADA requirements, we will make reasonable accommodations for the known disability of an otherwise qualified applicant.Additional ResponsibilitiesThe statements in this job description are intended to represent the key duties, essential nature, and level of work being performed.
