Summer Camp Activity Specialist: Archery

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking a friendly, reliable outdoor enthusiast to provide high-quality recreation experience for the Blue Mountain Adventure Camp. An Activity Specialist oversees a specific activity at camp, the equipment associated with that activity, and the safety of the activity & participants. Qualified applicants should embody the camp's core values of Safety, Fun, and Learning.Requirements:Must be 18 years of age by 6/22/2026A strong enthusiasm for outdoors and recreation.Specific required experience, interest, and skills in Archery (both compound bow and recurve bow)An active Archery Instructor certification or ability and willingness to obtain one.Possesses the ability to work both within a team and independently without direct supervision.Strong communication skills both written and verbally.Extraordinary ability to provide outstanding guest service.Enjoys supervising and directing a specific group activity.Enjoys working with children.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:Manages set-up, clean-up, and facilitation of activity for summer camp groups to engage in.Maintains equipment for specific activity and communicates needs to camp managementMaintains various program records, including inspection logs and incident reportsConsistently enforces all safety guidelines and proceduresWillingness and ability to teach the skills of that activity to children of all ability levels and ages (5 to 15 years old)Assists counselors and other camp staff at mealtimes, on field trips, during pick up/ drop off, etc.Pre and post-season inventories, maintenance, and work related to specific activitiesIMPORTANT DATES FOR THE 2026 CAMP SESSION:June 10th - 11th: High Ropes Course Training - attendance strongly encouraged for all activity specialists (invite only & 18 years old or older required)June 15th - 19th: Staff Training Week- attendance MANDATORY for all staff - specialist requirements of attendance may vary.The camp session dates are as follows:June 22nd / 23rd - June 27thJuly 6th / 7th - July 11thJuly 13th / 14th - July 18thJuly 20th / 21st - July 25thJuly 27th / 28th - August 1stAugust 3rd / 4th - August 8thAugust 10th / 11th - August 15thSPECILAIST STAFF ARE EXPECTED TO BE ABLE TO WORK ALL OFFERED CAMP WEEKS.
