Apply via Dice today!A leading healthcare organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join their IT Managed Services team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in infrastructure design, project management, and technical leadership. This role requires a strong background in both Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization, and network management. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT infrastructures, providing advanced support, and managing IT projects from start to finish.Responsibilities:Design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain complex on-premises IT infrastructure for internal and external clients.Manage IT projects, including planning, design, and implementation of solutions.Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.Manage and train junior technical staff.Interface with vendors and clients to ensure service delivery.Stay current with industry trends and best practices.Investigate and resolve on-site project-related issues as needed.Required Skillset:5+ years of prior IT experience in a senior-level role, indicating a deep and broad understanding of IT systems and the ability to manage complex projects and technical challenges.Experience in architecting and designing IT infrastructure for optimal performance, security, and scalability.Proficiency in Windows Server (2012-2022) and Red Hat Server Administration.Deep understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and network administration (Cisco, Palo Alto, A10, KEMP).Expertise in VMware vSphere, SAN/NAS storage technologies, and backup/recovery solutions (Veritas, Commvault).Strong skills in security hardening for Windows and Linux systems.Scripting abilities in Python, PowerShell, Bash, and YAML.Familiarity with containerization (Kubernetes) and cloud technologies (Azure preferred).Relevant certifications such as MCSE, Azure ASAE, TOGAF, IASA, CISSP, VMware VCDX, VCP/CCNA are a plus.Proven ability to plan, execute, and manage IT projects, and lead and mentor junior technical staff.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science.Bonus Skillset:Advanced cloud technologies and architectures.Knowledge of emerging IT infrastructure trends and best practices.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challenges effectively.Location: Pleasanton, CA (hybrid)Type: Contract to hireDuration: 6 month contract to hireSr. Systems Engineer role in Pleasanton, CA
