Position involves work-related travel in the United States two times per year including the Annual Conference in March of each year.Employee must reside in one of the following states: Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Ohio, Wisconsin and TexasThe Member Service Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for AMS members. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality member service, including processing applications, providing information on AMS member benefits and services, maintaining member accounts, and managing phone and written inquiries. This role requires a strong service-oriented approach, tech-savviness, attention to detail and a collaborative approach in a remote work environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSchool and Individual MembershipCommunicate with schools to ensure that membership renewal applications are complete and submitted accurately and on time, both verbally and in writingProcess member applications and invoices and make invoice collection calls for unpaid balances, to ensure timely payment of dues and submit requests for refunds as applicableUse AMS database to enroll new members and maintain member accountsAnswer questions from prospective schools and individuals regarding the benefits of membership and refer potential members to the Member Development AssociateAssist with member benefit and engagement initiatives (e.g. AMS Connect, Resource Library, AMS Learning, scholarships, website revisions, etc.)Assist with recruitment and retention of membersUndertake departmental tasks as delegated by supervisorMember Services and Cross-Departmental TasksMonitor shared inboxes and provide helpful responses to external inquiries in a timely mannerHandle incoming calls and member inquiriesParticipate in annual conference planning with a focus on member experienceRegister participants for professional development, the annual conference, and events, which may include creating registrations, running registration reports, generating confirmations and invoices, making changes to registration information including cancellations and transfers, and collectionsAssist with membership mailings and other communication to membersUndertake departmental tasks as designated by supervisor Delivers responsive, empathetic support that enhances the member experienceCommunicates clearly and professionally verbally and written communicationEnsure accuracy in data entry, application processing and member recordsResolves inquiries and issues with sound judgment and professionalismTechnically proficient in Microsoft Office and learns new tools quicklyExperience with CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) softwareTakes ownership of work and adapts to changing prioritiesMaintains a positive, flexible and collaborative approach in a team environmentAMS has a strong benefit package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b), Life Insurance, Long Term Disability and generous Paid Time Off, Sick Days, Holidays and other time off.The American Montessori Society is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, genetic information, family responsibility, political affiliation or any other status protected by applicable laws.J-18808-Ljbffr
