Construction Project Engineer
The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the Project Manager and Superintendent in the successful execution of commercial construction projects. This role plays a key part in contract administration, scheduling, document control, financial tracking, field coordination, and compliance to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Document Management
Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications to identify project requirements.
Create, manage, and track Requests for Information (RFIs).
Coordinate and process subcontractor submittals to architects/engineers for approval.
Assist with building permit applications and regulatory documentation.
Support change order preparation, tracking, and execution.
Scheduling & Project Coordination
Monitor construction progress and collaborate with field operations to maintain schedule adherence.
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure scope alignment and timely execution.
Participate in project meetings and distribute meeting minutes and action items as applicable.
Field & Operational Support
Provide technical support to field teams to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Assist in constructability reviews and pre-planning efforts.
Support coordination of multi-discipline activities and help resolve design conflicts.
Assist with inspection documentation and quality control processes.
Maintain organized and accurate project documentation.
Compliance & Safety
Support site safety documentation and coordination efforts.
Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and applicable building codes and regulations.
Maintain awareness of environmental, safety, and quality requirements.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
Experience
4+ years of experience in commercial building construction project engineering or field coordination.
Strong understanding of concrete, structural steel, and light-gauge metal framing assemblies.
Experience coordinating multi-discipline trades and managing document control processes.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Projects
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
Understanding of construction document coordination.

Working Conditions
Location: Assigned commercial project sites throughout Southern California.
Travel: Regular travel to and from project sites required.
Office Environment: Extended sitting, computer work, occasional lifting (5–20 lbs).
Construction Site Environment: Standing, walking, bending, climbing, and potential exposure to elevated noise levels.
Compensation based on experience.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
