Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Travel RN – Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) – Nights Location: Albany, NY Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Experience Required: 2 years in progressive/critical care EMR: Epic Position Overview: The Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) nurses care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients in the region. Typical patient populations include: respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Responsibilities: Provide high-acuity care to medical and surgical patients in a PCU setting. Manage advanced hemodynamics, including pressor titration per protocol. Administer and monitor drips: antihypertensives, sedatives, Narcan, thrombo-embolytics. Manage invasive lines and devices: A-line, CVP, EVD, orthopedic traction. Operate and monitor HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxygen-dependent patients. Adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of progressive critical care experience; ICU experience preferred Competency in medical and surgical patient care ACLS required Epic EMR experience required Ability to manage high-acuity patients (average load: 3 patients per shift) Scheduling Requirements: Weekends: Every other weekend Holidays: Rotating Contact: HumanEdge Health HumanEdge Travel Healthcare Job ID 17862.
