Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

AMFT, ACSW provides clinical therapeutic services to an adult population composed of substance-abusing and dual-diagnosed persons. Responsible for screening, assessments, treatment planning, caseload management, group/individual counseling, crisis management, and coordination of care. Job Duties: AMFT Provide high quality, compassionate, and ethical treatment to clients. Provide individual and family therapy. Meet one on one with patients minimum once a week to provide guidance on treatment goals and assist with aftercare planning. Recognize, respond to, and assist in psychiatric crisis situations and provide the intervention necessary. Participate in clinical staff meetings, trainings, and other activities as required. Actively participate as a positive member of an interdisciplinary treatment team. Complete treatment plan for each client and regularly update based on client progress. Complete clinical assessments and documentation as necessary, including but not limited to, treatment plans, biopsychosocial assessments, concurrent reviews, discharge plans, etc. Responsible for scheduling individual appointments. Complete accurate clinical documentation same day as date of service. Responds and assists in medical emergency situations as directed and needed. Complete all recommended continuing education requirements. Stay current with updated research and best practices. Adheres to facility polices & procedures, Joint Commission Standards, & DCFS Rules & Regulations. Secure client information per HIPAA standards. Provides in-service training as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, psychology or related human services field Knowledge of DSM-V and SMI diagnoses, psychopharmacology, substance abuse, addictions, recovery, relapse prevention, and 12-step treatment philosophy. Knowledge of the principles of cultural competency and adherence to its philosophy. Knowledge of behavioral health services delivery systems policies and procedures. Knowledge of state and local behavioral health resources. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information. Ability to work under pressure and address events/crises which may develop unexpectedly. Strong computer skills required, experience with KIPU electronic medical records preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and professionals. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Strong assessment skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to pass a background check. Possession of, or the ability to obtain the following: CPR and First Aid certifications Evidence of freedom from infectious pulmonary tuberculosis Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Electronic Health Records; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
