The Senior Buyer will be responsible for all raw material, packaging and the handling of these purcahses for supplements for the company. Will manage components from new product development through discontinuation of the product, including cost, delivery, inventory, and payment. Manage supplier relationships to drive quality and total costs. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Develops strategic business partnerships with key suppliers negotiating prices, quality, transportation, payment terms, and conditionsEvaluates vendor quotes and services to determine the best value to the Company with cost, service, quality, reliability, and relationship at the corePlaces purchase orders with suppliers and monitors adherence to delivery schedules. Reschedule orders based on forecast and requirement changes.Maintains communications externally with vendors and internally with manufacturing, sales, and logistics to predict and optimize the supply chainLeads the negotiation process of supplier agreements and ensures that contractual obligations are met.Pursues new vendor relationships, when necessary, and seeks to achieve the most profitable service from vendors.Manages inventory levels; adjusts orders as necessary to reduce excess inventory.Seeks opportunities to maximize procurement and purchasing efficiencies so as to support and increase the Company’s revenue and profitability.All other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Education: College degree preferredPreferred: ASCM certification preferred Experience:Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures Minimum of (5) years related buyer experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have excellent math skills, ability to convert pound to kilogram with the use of a calculator and complete repetitive calculations with minimal errorsComputer skills: Expert Excel is a must, Google Docs, Data Ninja, and QuickBooks are highly desirableHighly motivated, conscientious, self-managed team player, with experience working in a manufacturing team environmentMust be thorough, detail-oriented, and organizedProven planning and analysis capabilitiesDemonstrated ability to manage limited resources in an effective manner.Ability to manage time effectively to meet targets and deadlinesStrong communication skills both verbal and written
