Job Overview
Contractors Capital Solutions (CCS) is looking for a highly capable and analytical Project Accountant to manage and control financial data across our commercial, industrial, government, and union construction projects. This full-time, on-site role will focus on core accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, compliance, and financial collaboration with project and executive teams. You'll play a key role in supporting informed decision-making through accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights.

Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Financial Reporting
Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
Lead month-end and year-end closing activities
Perform reconciliations (bank, credit cards, AP/AR)
Generate WIP schedules and percent-complete reports
Develop cash flow forecasts
Job Cost & Project Financials
Post and review job costs
Analyze cost variances and budgets
Calculate cost-to-complete (CTC) and perform job-level reconciliations
Account for change orders and assess financial impact
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cash Flow
Review and post AP accurately; ensure vendor payments follow internal controls
Review and post AR billing; assist in collections and AR aging analysis
Systems & Financial Controls
Utilize construction accounting platforms (e.g., Sage, Textura, CMiC, Viewpoint)
Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure data integrity
Support audits and improve internal financial processes
Build reports and perform financial analysis
Compliance & Support Functions
Prepare and report 1099s
Support payroll job cost allocation
Assist with sales/use tax filings, insurance, and bonding documentation
Collaborate with external CPAs, auditors, and leadership
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Deliver financial insights to PMs and company leadership
Translate accounting data for non-finance stakeholders
Provide training on cost coding and backup project coordination support
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of project or construction accounting experience
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred
Strong knowledge of job cost accounting and financial reporting
Experience with construction accounting platforms (Textura, Sage, CMiC, etc.)
High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
