MEP Piping Designer

Job-ID: 17276; Location(s): FieldJOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYEngineers are responsible for the review of project specifications and preparation of drawings/schematics to be used in construction of various mechanical piping systems utilizing but not limited to Viega press systems. Engineers will handle all aspects of the design process, which can include analyzing the building, performing design calculations, choosing the appropriate piping systems for installation, materials, and labor estimates. Modeling of piping systems for construction or prefabrication as required.JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILSResponsibilitiesReviews project submissions for completenessEstablish communication with customer(s) to facilitate collaboration throughout entirety of projectReviews project specifications to determine technical concerns, requirements and/or feasibility of projectProject ownership from beginning to endModels piping system including pipe sizing and material as applicablePerform system calculations including volumes, flow rates, pressures, load calculations, etc.Optimize existing piping designs as applicable to improve performance, installation, or total cost of ownershipProvides Bill of Materials for piping systemDevelops labor comparisons for revised piping system designProvides submittal packages and specifications unique to projectOrganizes and maintains all project revisions including models, BOM, calculations, etc.Specifies equipment for piping systems based on customer needs and local requirementsWorks closely with contractor, engineer, Sales colleagues to manage project flowOtherAttends meetings as required and/or assignedPerforms other duties as required and/or assignedComplies with the safety rules and guidelinesAssist colleagues with piping design reviewsOccasional travel will be requiredREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.Knowledge of general engineering practices and their applications.Strong knowledge of various piping systems and components (gas, domestic water, hydronic, air, etc.)Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.Excellent analytical and time management skillsAbility to analyze and make recommendations for workable solutions for a building's piping needsAbility to communicate both verbally and in writing with internal and external customersAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department.Understanding of construction processExperience with CAD programs at some level (2D, 3D, etc.)Ability to adhere to the highest standards of quality while continually performing at the highest possible level.Education, Certification/License & Work Experience* BS in Engineering OR Plumbing/Contractor LicenseAND* 2 -5 years of related design experienceOR* 10 years related industry experienceEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.Total Rewards Package:Compensation* Base: $77,000 to $107,000 USD annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.* Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.BenefitsMedical, Dental, VisionWellness ProgramHealth Savings Account (HSA) with a company contributionVoluntary Benefits (Life, AD&D, Disability)401(k) retirement plan with a 7.5% company contributionTime Off Programs - 22 days Paid Time Off (PTO), 9 Company Holidays, 2 Volunteer DaysApplication Window* Posting date: 04/28/2026* The application deadline for this job is: 06/12/2026Your contact person:Brad Kerwin#LI-Onsite #LI-Hybrid #LI-Remote
