HVAC Chiller Technician
Position Summary JOB DESCRIPTION The HVAC Chiller Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial and commercial chiller systems. This role is critical to maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient cooling operations supporting plant equipment and processes.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systemsTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issuesInspect compressors, motors, pumps, valves, refrigerant circuits, and control componentsPerform system startups, shutdowns, and performance testingRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and OEM documentationMonitor system operation and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliabilityRespond to emergency breakdowns and participate in on-call rotation as requiredMaintain accurate maintenance records in the CMMSComply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirementsCoordinate work with operations, engineering, and outside contractorsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED (technical or trade school preferred)Minimum of 3–5 years HVAC or chiller maintenance experienceStrong working knowledge of refrigeration systems and HVAC controlsEPA Section 608 Universal Certification (required)Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits, motors, and control systemsStrong safety awareness and attention to detailPreferred QualificationsExperience with large-tonnage industrial or commercial chillersFamiliarity with Trane, Carrier, York, or similar systemsBuilding Automation System (BAS) experienceVFD and control system troubleshooting experienceCurrent HVAC or mechanical licensePhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to stand, walk, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periodsAbility to work in hot, cold, noisy, and industrial environmentsWork ScheduleFull-time, day shiftOvertime, nights, weekends, and on-call work may be requiredCompensation And BenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceOvertime opportunitiesMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysTraining and career development opportunitiesTo ApplySubmit your application through the company hiring process or contact the Maintenance Department.
