Tool Maker / Mold MakerFacility: Winchester, TN - 660 Baxter Lane, Winchester, Tennessee 37398Shifts: 6am or 7am start40 hours a week + OT. Lots of OT available1 opening for this role - will be looking for 2 juniors but need to fill the full timeSee attached JDInterview process: Interview with Greg Cornet, Regal Ops ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesPerform final inspection, complete work documentation, maintain material identification, and move work pieceFit and assemble a mold which includes, but is not limited to: transfer and locate holes; fit and size mold components; check cooling and heating circuits; install mold components in the spotting press; spot the mold; final-inspect mold; install ejector system components; install runner system components; check assembled mold; move work piece; and, complete work documentationRepair molds used to mass produce plastic or metal components or productsPerform work-in-progress measuring or checking using specialized and precision tools and equipmentMake all appropriate personnel aware of any potential tooling problems, issues or questionsMaintain a clean workspace and organization of materialsMaintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs using provided paper and/or electronic logsDevise and detail a plan for the mold-building process including; verify features of the mold components, develop and organize a mold build plan, perform mold-building related calculations, assemble and verify tooling stock materials, produce a detailed sketch of mold components, build tooling aids for mold-building process, lay out template(s), and produce templatesRead and interpret complex engineering drawings and work-process documentationUse the overhead crane to transport molds / mold components through the shop and set up molds in presses (weight up to 50,000lbs)Use the forklift to transport molds / mold components throughout the shop and prepare them for tryouts (weight up to 5,000lbs)At all times, adhere to customer standards on all tool designs and the internal lean manufacturing guidelinesResponsible for maintaining safe operations by keeping work area clean and organized and by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsParticipate in required meetings and training, as requestedQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent is requiredTen (10) years of related experience as a mold makerAbility to perform under pressure and work independentlyAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as requiredAbility to ensure quality standards are metStrong attention to detail is requiredStrong leadership, interpersonal, communication and relationship building skillsProficient in time management and communication skillsRed Seal is an asset
