PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
Responsibilities:
Design or redesign plastic thermoform and/or rotomold parts based on customer input/feedback
Assist in developing product design solutions by providing input, ideas, and options, from conception through build and manufacture
Using independent judgment, convert customer’s preliminary product design ideas into working 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings along with supporting documentation
Communicates timelines internally and externally
Meet with internal and external customers to document project requirements and progress.
Responds and coordinates to sales and quality requests for new product drawings
Responsible for the efficient and accurate production of CAD drawings/prints for management, external customers, and tooling vendors
Manages all aspects of the internal quality control process to ensure customer satisfaction and ISO compliance within part design
Evaluates the feasibility of design ideas
Design and develop physical prototype parts from CAD geometry (in-house training provided)
Other responsibilities as the business requires
Requirements:
S. or A.A.S. degree in Computer Aided Mechanical Design or related field or equivalent experience
3 - 5 years experience in CAD design, preferably SolidWorks
3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
