Because why not do it all?Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis role is responsible for developing, design and testing electronic hardware for ebike and automotive applications. This position will work with senior engineers on all aspects of hardware design. This includes: requirements gathering, concept development, component selection, schematic design, circuit board layout, prototype build and debug, product integration testing, and manufacturing readiness preparation.This position has the following responsibilities:Implement and simulate digital, analog and power electronics circuits using modern tools and techniquesBuild, troubleshoot, analyze and test digital, analog and power electronics circuits in a lab settingDesign and test micro-controller based systemsDevelop reusable and modular design platformsUnderstand circuit schematics and electronic component datasheetsUnderstand brushed DC and 3 phase motor driver circuitsCapable of building and testing prototype electronic hardwareProvide input on product design and strategyWork with manufacturers and internal/external customers to build and refine productsWork closely with the product design team to support control board design as well as support functional testingPOSITION DIMENSIONS: This position reports to Mechatronics Manager for New Technology Innovation and is responsible for developing, testing and supporting electronic hardware for ebike and automotive applications. This position will work with senior engineers to develop their skillsets while supporting electronic design and development work.CONTACTS: Minimal external contact with supplier to ensure electric control board meet Gates requirement and standards. Internal contact with global engineering team and plant team like Quality Engineer, Process Engineer, Prototype Technician, Buyer etc. frequently.OTHER: Office hours are normal with travel to supplier facilities and plant and global facilities is possible.Requirements and Preferred SkillsMinimum Requirements4-Year Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalentStrong background in electrical verification, circuit design and PCB design/layout (Altium preferred)Experience with electrical lab equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, function generatorStrong EE fundamentals including circuit analysis and system architectureExcellent problem solving skillsStrong hands on skills including soldering and PCB debugStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational and interpersonal skillsMust be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorshipPreferred:Experience designing motor driver hardwareSchool or hobbyist experience with motors and/or sensorsAutomotive product development experienceStrong project management skillsFirmware development experienceExperience with CAN/LIN bus communicationKnowledge and/or interest in e-bike motors control strategies a plusPAY & BENEFITSFull-TimeSalary Range: $67,000 - $72,000Relocation is not providedMedical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hireEligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days.
