Critical Care Nurse in Joliet, IL

A full-time Registered Nurse with expertise in ICU care is needed for a contract position in Joliet, IL, beginning within two weeks of offer acceptance. This role involves providing specialized care in a high-acuity environment, focusing on neuro or cardiovascular ICU patients. The schedule includes 12-hour day shifts, totaling 36 hours per week, with weekend coverage every other weekend and rotating holidays. There is no on-call or travel requirement, and the position involves initial floating duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver critical care to patients in the Neuro or Cardiovascular ICU, including those recovering from surgery and stroke-related complications.
Manage advanced therapies such as CRRT, balloon pumps, and Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring.
Provide comprehensive care for stroke patients, including those with advanced heart failure.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Maintain compliance with hospital protocols related to high-acuity ICU care.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Illinois RN license.
A minimum of 3 years of critical care nursing experience in an ICU setting, specifically in Cardiac or Neuro ICU.
Proficiency with high-acuity cardiac and neuro patient care, including experience with EVDSs and NIH Stroke Scale.
Required certifications: ACLS, NIHSS, and BLS.
Demonstrated expertise in managing complex cardiac and neuro patients, preferably with stroke-certified program experience.
Strong clinical judgment and ability to perform in a fast-paced ICU environment.
