Employees benefit from a supportive culture as well as a competitive benefits package, including 401k matching, paid family leave, and the option to choose overtime pay or compensatory time.Position OverviewThis role offers the opportunity to lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on a wide range of building projects.This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving, client interaction, and mentoring junior engineers, while working in an environment that values innovation, autonomy, and professional development.Key ResponsibilitiesLead structural engineering projects from concept through construction completion.Develop structural designs, calculations, reports, and construction documents.Prepare and coordinate structural models and drawings using BIM tools such as Revit.Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and developers to deliver efficient and innovative design solutions.Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals, and perform site visits as required.Manage client relationships and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering (structural focus).2–10+ years of experience in structural engineering for building projects.Strong understanding of structural systems, materials, and assemblies.Experience with structural design software and BIM toolsExcellent communication and collaboration skills.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Structural Engineering.Professional Engineer (PE) license.Experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.Interest in sustainable and efficient structural design.If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please apply or contact anya.brown@thomasyounggroup.com for additional information.
