Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers.ResponsibilitiesFulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include:Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staffInterviewing patientsObtaining vital signsAssisting patients in preparing for exams or treatmentsPerforming specimen collection, including venipunctureAdministration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competencyRelaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregiversFulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include:Sending and receiving of patient medical recordsFacilitating patient referralsPreparing forms for patientsRequirementsWashington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferredCurrent BLS certificationWhy MultiCare Cancer Institute? As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.83 - $35.71 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
