We are seeking a High School Math Teacher at William Henry Harrison High School for the 2026/2027 school year and beyond.Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing high school students with the mathematical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities necessary for success in college, careers, and beyond. This individual will foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, perseverance, and confidence in mathematics while modeling and promoting the core values of Trust, Respect, Ownership, and Leadership.Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver engaging, rigorous math instruction aligned with Ohio Learning Standards and district curriculum, supporting courses such as Algebra, Geometry, and/or advanced mathematics.- Create a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and productive struggle, where students feel supported to take academic risks and grow.- Differentiate instruction using a variety of strategies, tools, and technologies to meet the diverse academic needs of all learners.- Use formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction, monitor student progress, and provide targeted interventions or enrichment.- Prepare students for success on Ohio State Tests and other assessments through intentional planning, skill development, and data-driven instruction.- Collaborate with colleagues, including intervention specialists and support staff, to ensure alignment and support for all students.- Incorporate real-world applications and interdisciplinary connections to enhance student engagement and relevance of mathematical concepts.- Provide timely, specific feedback to students to support continuous improvement and ownership of learning.- Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and provide resources to support learning outside the classroom.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.- Valid Ohio teaching license in Mathematics (7 12) or eligibility for licensure; College Credit Plus (CCP) credentialing preferred.- Demonstrated success in facilitating student growth in mathematical proficiency, including performance on standardized assessments.- Experience working with secondary students in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.- Commitment to fostering a culture of Trust, Respect, Ownership, and Leadership within the school community.- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practices and remain current with educational research and best practices.Benefits:Southwest Local School District participates in the Southwest Ohio Organization for School Health (SWOOSH).
