CNC Programmer

NC ProgrammerFremont, CA, USAJob SummaryDevelop and optimize NC programs for CNC Milling, Turning, Mill-Turn, and Multi-Axis machining centers.Generate toolpaths using CAM software such as NX CAM, Mastercam, CATIA, Creo Manufacturing, PowerMill, or equivalent.Interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements.Create setup sheets, tooling documentation, machining process sheets, and operator instructions.Perform machining strategy selection, tool selection, cutting parameter optimization, and sequencing of operations.Validate and verify NC programs through simulation to ensure collision-free and efficient machining.Support machine prove-outs and first-piece manufacturing activities.Troubleshoot machining and programming issues encountered during production.Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Quality, and Production teams to resolve technical challenges.Review engineering changes and implement program updates as required.Analyze and reduce machining cycle times through continuous process optimization.Support fixture validation and tooling improvement initiatives.Monitor machining performance and recommend improvements to increase productivity and reduce scrap.Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and machining best practices.Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.Maintain NC program libraries and associated technical documentation.Qualification:'Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.3-5 years (or as required) of experience in CNC Programming / NC Programming.Strong knowledge of:3-Axis, 4-Axis, and 5-Axis CNC MillingCNC Turning and Mill-Turn OperationsHigh-Speed Machining (HSM)Multi-Axis Machining StrategiesExperience with CAM software such as:Siemens NX CAMMastercamCATIA ManufacturingCreo ManufacturingPowerMillExperience with CNC controllers such as:FanucSiemensHeidenhainMazatrolStrong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.Knowledge of cutting tools, work holding, fixtures, and machining processes.Experience with NC verification software such as Vericut or NCSimul is preferred.Understanding of machining of castings, forgings, weldments, and precision-machined components.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
