Business/Technical Supp Analyst 2 - Client Services - FT - Day

Position SummaryIncumbent provides support for the organization's desktop computing environment, including installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. Incumbent also troubleshoots problem areas (in person, remotely with support tools, by telephone, or via e-mail) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provides end-user assistance where required. Incumbent is responsible for delivering the highest level of customer service and support to customers and provides occasional on-call or after-hours support for all Medical Center locations, including offsite locations.Required QualificationsWillingness and ability to work occasional weekends and eveningsWilling to be on-call support for IT issuesUnderstanding of DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IPRequires directly related experience as a desktop support technician and demonstrated skills at an advanced levelMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobKnowledge of operating system internals, file systems, functions of hardware components and how hardware and software components work together to form a computer systemKnowledge of Active Directory and Group PoliciesIf necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendorsHands-on hardware troubleshooting experienceExtensive understanding of Microsoft Outlook and PDA supportExtensive knowledge TCP/IP protocolsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishDemonstrated technical ability to install, configure and maintain Windows and Macintosh operating systems environment, including MS Office suiteAbility to problem solve independently on Desktop configurationsAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health SystemPreferred QualificationsNet+, A+, MCP, MCSEKnowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and formsAbility to document resolutions clearly within a ticket system and knowledgebaseEqual Opportunity EmployerThe University of California is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
