We repair off-wing aircraft components for regional airline customers in a regulated, documentation-driven environment where material control, traceability, and flow directly affect customer turnaround time.We are hiring a Materials Manager to lead the Materials function and strengthen the systems that support our repair operations vision:One Part Flow, On Demand, In SequenceThis is not a basic warehouse or shipping role. It is a hands-on materials leadership role at the intersection of supply chain, inventory control, aviation compliance, vendor/subcontractor coordination, ERP discipline, and Lean repair-station flow.What You Will OwnYou will lead the Materials function and be responsible for:Material availability, inventory accuracy, and material readiness for repair operations.Inventory planning, including min/max levels, reorder points, supplier lead times, criticality review, and shortage visibility.ERP/inventory-system accuracy, including item master discipline, units of measure, stock locations, shelf-life fields, lot/batch/serial tracking, and material status.Vendor and subcontractor coordination, including lead-time follow-up, documentation accuracy, supplier performance, and supplier-risk visibility.Shipping, receiving logistics, vendor returns, RMAs, freight claims, and subcontractor shipment tracking.Shelf-life control, segregation, labeling, quarantine support, and traceability documentation.Supervision of the Repair Facilitator and Shipping & Receiving Specialist.Practical Lean improvements that reduce searching, waiting, shortages, excess inventory, documentation errors, and material-flow interruptions.How This Role Works With Other DepartmentsThe Materials Manager supports the repair station but does not replace the authority of other role owners.You will coordinate closely with:Repair Manager on repair-flow support, material readiness, and material constraints.Chief Inspector and Quality Manager on traceability, quarantine, suspected unapproved parts, Incoming Inspection matters, documentation concerns, and quality-system requirements.Engineering and Technical Support Manager on part specifications, approved substitutions, alternate materials, and technical-data concerns.Accounting and Office Manager on purchase documentation, vendor records, invoice support, credits, returns, and cost tracking.Customer Service on accurate material status, delivery timelines, shortages, and recovery dates.What Success Looks LikeA successful Materials Manager will:Maintain accurate and reliable inventory records.Support a target of 98% or greater inventory accuracy.Make shortages visible before they interrupt repair flow.Improve supplier and subcontractor reliability.Reduce preventable stockouts, excess inventory, obsolete inventory, and expired material.Keep material status clear, controlled, and current.Maintain complete, traceable, audit-ready documentation.Build a disciplined, organized, accountable Materials team.Required Qualifications5+ years of progressively responsible experience in materials management, supply chain, inventory control, procurement, logistics, vendor coordination, or related operations.2+ years of experience in an FAA Part 145 repair station, aviation MRO, aerospace, defense, regulated manufacturing, medical device, or similarly controlled technical environment.Experience supervising or leading team members in materials, inventory, shipping, receiving, logistics, or procurement support.Strong understanding of inventory accuracy, traceability, documentation control, supplier coordination, material status, and audit readiness.Experience using ERP, MRP, or inventory-control systems.Working knowledge of min/max, reorder points, lead times, shortage tracking, inventory turns, and slow-moving or excess inventory review.Competency with Google Workspace, including Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail, and Google Chat.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.Preferred QualificationsDirect FAA/EASA Part 145 repair-station experience.Aircraft parts, aviation MRO, aerospace materials, or component-repair experience.Familiarity with FAA Form 8130-3, EASA Form 1, certificates of conformity, purchase orders, packing lists, supplier certifications, and controlled material documentation.Experience with Kanban, min/max replenishment, 5S, visual management, Lean material flow, or continuous improvement.Experience with shelf-life materials, quarantine areas, nonconforming material segregation, suspected unapproved part escalation, or Incoming Inspection interfaces.Experience with RMAs, rejected-material returns, vendor returns, freight claims, or reverse logistics.ASCM/APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, or related supply-chain training preferred.Additional RequirementsMust successfully complete a pre-employment background check in accordance with company policy.Must pass a pre-employment drug test as required by FAA and company requirements.Must participate in ongoing random drug and alcohol testing in compliance with FAA and company requirements.Must be able to work on-site in Oxnard, California.Equal Opportunity StatementHot Section Technologies is an equal opportunity employer.
