This role combines hands-on technical ownership with solution design and vendor leadership — translating business requirements from HR, Payroll, Finance, and Operations into scalable configurations, integrations, and a multi-year technical roadmap. The role serves as the primary technical liaison between business stakeholders, IT, and Ceridian/Dayforce support, and partners closely with functional teams to keep pay, time, and scheduling data accurate, timely, secure, and compliant. Experience with Workday (HCM, Payroll, or Time Tracking) is required, particularly for organizations running a dual-platform, integrated, or migrating environment.Key Responsibilities Platform & Module Ownership Own end-to-end technical configuration of Dayforce Payroll, Timekeeping, and Scheduling modules, including pay rules, work rules, schedule rules, accrual policies, entitlement rules, and calculation configurations.Own the technical roadmap for Dayforce — module adoption, process optimization, automation, release adoption, and retirement of legacy tools or manual processes.Design and maintain scalable configuration for workflows, security roles, pay and time policies, organizational structures, approval chains, and earnings/deductions — favoring standard capabilities over unnecessary customization. Integrations & Technical Implementation Lead design, build, and maintenance of integrations between Dayforce and upstream/downstream systems (HRIS, GL/Finance, banking, tax, benefits carriers, time clocks, recruiting/ATS, and data warehouse/BI platforms) using Dayforce Integration Hub, APIs, SFTP, and middleware tools.Define mappings, file/API specifications, authentication, encryption, scheduling, reconciliation, and monitoring for all owned integrations.Where applicable, own integration and reconciliation between Workday (e.g., Workday HCM) and Dayforce Payroll/Timekeeping, including data mapping and dual-platform support.Lead data conversion, data-quality, and reconciliation activities for implementations, acquisitions, divestitures, and new module deployments. Support, Troubleshooting & Operations Serve as the technical escalation point for payroll processing issues, time capture discrepancies, and scheduling engine problems, partnering with functional teams to diagnose root cause.Support payroll and timekeeping operations by validating pay data, resolving timecard/punch issues, monitoring interfaces, and supporting previews, commits, reversals, off-cycle activity, tax updates, and year-end processing.Monitor scheduled jobs, interfaces, and system alerts; resolve routine failures and escalate complex or vendor-dependent issues with complete diagnostics. Release, Change & Risk Management Manage system upgrades, quarterly releases, and patches — reviewing release notes, assessing impact on existing configurations and integrations, and leading regression testing before deployment.Own release, testing, environment, and change-management processes, including configuration promotion, rollback planning, and stakeholder communication.Ensure compliance and data integrity across pay policies, tax setups, and labor law configurations across jurisdictions; support audit evidence and access reviews for the Dayforce security model. Documentation & Vendor Management Maintain documentation of system architecture, integration data flows, configuration standards, runbooks, and change history so work is controlled, repeatable, and transferable.Partner with Dayforce support/professional services on defect resolution, enhancement requests, statements of work, and platform roadmap planning.Translate requirements from Payroll, Timekeeping, and Workforce Management stakeholders into technical specifications, and produce updates on delivery status and operating metrics.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in information systems, human resources, business, finance, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.3+ years of hands-on Dayforce technical/functional experience, with demonstrated depth in Payroll, Timekeeping, and Scheduling modules.Strong understanding of Dayforce's underlying architecture: pay groups, work assignments, pay policies, and the scheduling/timekeeping engine.Experience building and troubleshooting integrations (Dayforce Integration Hub, REST/SOAP APIs, file feeds, SFTP, middleware).Working knowledge of Workday (HCM, Payroll, or Time Tracking modules) — integration experience between Workday and Dayforce is highly valued.Demonstrated ability to translate functional/business requirements into technical configuration, integration design, and implementation plans.Experience managing system upgrades/releases, regression testing, and change management.Solid understanding of payroll compliance concepts (FLSA, multi-state/multi-jurisdiction tax, union rules) as they relate to system configuration.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; comfortable working directly with data (SQL or similar a plus).Preferred QualificationsDayforce certification(s) in Payroll, WFM, or Implementation.Experience in a system-of-record migration or dual-running environment involving both Dayforce and Workday. Background supporting a large, multi-entity, multi-state, or union workforce.Experience with role-based security design, segregation of duties, and audit evidence for payroll/timekeeping controls.Familiarity with middleware/iPaaS tools (Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft) for integration orchestration.Knowledge of ITIL, Agile, or enterprise architecture practices.
