Laitram Machinery, Inc. has a position available for an Experienced Press Brake Operator. This individual will be responsible for processing stainless steel sheet metal parts on a CNC controlled hydraulic press brake.For over 70 years, Laitram Machinery has pioneered the manufacturing of high-performance shrimp-peeling equipment, and more recently, steam cookers, blanchers, nut pasteurizers, roasters, and sorters. To learn more about our company culture, philosophy, and benefits, please visit our company page.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate press brake machines to process sheet metal parts per engineering drawings and work instructionsSelect appropriate tooling and dies based on material type and thicknessInterpret blueprints, bend allowances, and bend sequencingPerform first-article and in-process inspections using precision measuring toolsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaAccurately record production data and labor transactions using shop floor softwareIdentify and correct quality issues at the source before moving to the next operationCollaborate with team members, engineering, and quality departments to resolve issuesCrosstrain in other work centers as needed to support production goalsRequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum 2+ years of experience operating a press brake in a manufacturing environmentProficient in reading and interpreting sheet metal drawings and blueprintsFluent in written and spoken EnglishAbove-average math skills, including geometry and basic trigonometryComfortable using computers and learning manufacturing softwareStrong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions preciselySelf-managed, dependable, and a team playerWillingness to work overtime and travel occasionally if requiredAbility to lift and move up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as outlined in the Functional Job DescriptionPreferred QualificationsExperience operating CNC-controlled press brakesFamiliarity with Bystronic press brake systemsCertification in Press Brake Operation (e.g., FMA or equivalent)Experience working with tight tolerances and high-mix, low-volume productionForklift certification or experience with material handling equipmentExposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environmentsAbility to train or mentor junior operatorsEOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled
