Position OverviewMitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is seeking an Area Sales Manager II, Residential in Northern California. The role focuses on growing market share of Mitsubishi Electric systems by leveraging existing relationships with distributors, contractors, and local factories.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with distributor staff and contractors to execute growth plans while implementing business development concepts.Further develop partnerships with distributor management and staff, contractors, utility companies, and builders for sales growth.Sell the value proposition of Mitsubishi, highlighting whole-home solutions.Participate in local professional groups, industry associations, distributor trade shows, and other event functions.Prepare territory analysis related to performance and growth.Administer and conduct sales and application training, marketing programs, and annual reviews at the contractor and distributor level.Assist distribution with inventory reporting and job quoting as needed.Develop distributor sales personnel to proficiently sell Mitsubishi products to residential contractors.Develop residential market strategy for the territory using market data.Maintain and update all new and existing contractor information in Salesforce.Report monthly to the Regional Manager on market conditions and activities.Grow and develop the Diamond Contractor base with distributor territory managers.Advise on application and installation methods and techniques for new and existing products.Collaborate with Commercial BU counterparts to capitalize on sales opportunities for the entire ME US product line.Assist the Regional Manager with distributor trainings, performance reviews, and shared information sessions.Consistently serve and exceed expectations as the Business Unit Champion.Collaborate with BU management to develop a personal development path for advancement.Consistently meet and/or exceed assigned annual performance goals.Assist in training new hires on basic functions of the Area Sales Manager role.Travel up to 50% of the territory for meetings and company functions.Perform other job functions as assigned.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.5+ years of sales experience, preferably in the HVAC industry.5+ years calling on residential and mechanical contractors.Familiarity with HVAC wholesale and dealer organizations.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to understand and execute business plans (Distributor, Contractor, etc.).Basic to proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office products.Familiarity with Salesforce, a plus.Public speaking skills for small and large groups.Experience with continuous improvement/lean organization, including Kaizen events.Must reside in the designated territory/geography.Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.Team player aligning with METUS core values: desire to win together, deliver excellence, drive sustainability, focus on execution, and continuous learning.CompensationBase pay range: $94,400 – $129,800 per year, subject to market location and individual experience. Total compensation may include commissions of 30% of total compensation based on annual revenue targets, incentive compensation, and discretionary awards.Eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, and participate in company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for employees and eligible dependents.Benefits: 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, 13 paid holidays per calendar year, and up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid parental or emergency leave if eligible.Employment TermsThis is an at-will position.
