This versatile role encompasses daily retail shop operations, including frontline customer service, order fulfillment and distribution, inventory management, maintaining store standards, and support for brand events. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the outdoor lifestyle, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, and is available to help open and close the shop 4-5 days per week. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a growing American-made brand while working in a dynamic, community-oriented setting.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer ServiceActively greeting customers and establishing a genuine rapportIncorporating extensive product knowledge into customer interactions, highlighting the unique features and benefits of our productsHandle inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with professionalism and enthusiasmProcess sales transactions accurately using POS systemResolve customer concerns promptly and effectively to ensure positive experiencesUse Gorgias (CX platform) to manage and organize customer support ticketsE-Commerce, Shipping & FulfillmentManage all online order fulfillment through Shopify and ShipStationPick, pack, and ship online orders efficiently and accuratelyPrepare packages for shipping, ensuring proper labeling and quality checksProcess and manage online returns and exchanges using Loop Retail Shop OperationsOpen and close the store according to schedule, including cash handling, security procedures, and store readinessMaintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and fitting roomsSet up and maintain merchandise displays in line with brand standardsMonitor and replenish stock on the sales floor from backroom inventoryInventory ManagementAssist with receiving, checking in, and organizing new shipmentsConduct regular inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock auditsUpdate inventory records accurately in ShopifyIdentify and report discrepancies or low-stock itemsMaintain organized backstock and shipping areas Community and Brand EngagementSupport in-store and off-site brand events, pop-ups, and community activationsAssist with event setup, customer engagement, product demonstrations, and breakdownPromote upcoming events and brand initiatives to customersContribute to strengthening DESO’s presence within the Reno outdoor and lifestyle communityQualifications & RequirementsPrevious retail, customer service, or operations experience preferred (outdoor, apparel, or lifestyle retail a plus)Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for customer serviceAbility to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30-50 lbs, and perform physical tasks such as stocking and moving merchandiseReliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a small teamBasic computer skills (POS systems, inventory software, email, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace)Availability to work 4-5 days per week (Tues-Sat), including opening/closing shifts (flexible days/hours within retail schedule)Enthusiasm for outdoor activities, adventure, and American-made products is highly desirableMust be able to pass a background check if requiredWhat We OfferCompetitive hourly pay commensurate with experienceEmployee discount on DESO productsOpportunity to grow with a passionate, values-driven brandFlexible part-time schedule in a supportive, community-oriented environment
