Job Description School Police OfficerCardinal Point Security Group is building a team of Security Officers who will facilitate a safe learning environment and keep students, staff, and faculty safe from violence.Location: Philadelphia, PA 19130Rate: $30.00 per hourSchedule:Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 7:00 PMDuties & Responsibilities:Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador: Be on time. Look sharp in proper uniform. Be engaged. Be consistentCoach and mentor studentsIncident Management and verbal de-escalationMaintains orderly flow of foot traffic in the hallwaysMonitors restrooms throughout the dayReports maintenance concerns to appropriate personnelWalks up to 10,000 steps per day to patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalismStands for up to four hours per dayAct as First responder for emergenciesStands post at secondary locations as requiredIdentify and report suspicious activityCultivate positive relationships with staff and studentsAccess ControlMonitor CCTVBasic Qualifications:Retired or honorably separated Municipal Police Officer or State TrooperCurrent clearances as required by the laws of Pennsylvania (24 P.S. § 1-111) weapons use/baton use/restrain procedures.Must possess a valid PA Act 235 Certification.Must possess a valid PA Concealed Carry PermitMust possess your own firearm.Must be able to pass the SPO MPOETC Firearms QualificationGraduate from Municipal Police Officer Education, Training Commission's Police Academy, State Police Academy (Out of State police academies can be considered).High School diploma or GEDConsent to a drug screen.Must be willing to obtain Act 168, Child Abuse, PA State Criminal History and PDE FBI Clearances as required by the Child Protective Services Law and PA School Code.CPR CertificationNo felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access).Ability to comprehend and utilize the English Language (verbal and written).Reliable means of transportation.Must possess a customer focused, professional, and courteous demeanor.Clean driving record with no at fault accidents for last 10 years.Preferred Qualifications:School security experience and Act 67 Certification.First Aid Certification.Benefits:Paid Mandatory TrainingAccrued Sick TimeEmployee Recognition Program401K eligibility after six months of employmentTo ensure Cardinal Point's commitment to a drug-free workplace, employees may be subject to random drug testsCardinal Point Security Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Sworn officers authorized to enforce Commonwealth laws and school policy.
